Description

Bently Nevada 3500/32 Four‑Channel Programmable Relay Module for 3500 Machinery Protection Rack, API 670 Compliant

Product Introduction

The Bently Nevada 3500/32 is a 4‑channel programmable relay module inside the classic 3500 machinery protection system rack. It receives alarm, danger and module OK status signals from all monitoring cards in the rack via the backplane, and drives 4 independent SPDT relay outputs according to user‑defined AND / OR voting logic. Each relay can be freely assigned to vibration, axial thrust, speed, temperature and other monitoring channels in the whole rack. Latching / non‑latching relay action modes are selectable to avoid false trips caused by single sensor fault. It directly sends hardwired trip signals to turbine ESD systems, local alarm panels and DCS remote status indication. Widely installed on steam turbines, centrifugal compressors and large rotating equipment, the 3500/32 is a high‑demand spare part for petrochemical, power plant rotating machinery protection cabinet maintenance.

Specific Application Information

  • Machine danger trip output: Trigger emergency shutdown circuits when vibration, thrust position or overspeed reaches danger setpoint.
  • Pre‑alarm signal output: Activate local audible & visual alarm for alert‑level abnormal machinery conditions.
  • Multi‑channel voting logic: Realize two‑out‑of‑three voting to reduce false trips for critical protection loops.
  • System fault notification: Relay action when any monitor module loss, sensor break or rack power failure occurs.
  • DCS hard‑wired status feedback: Transmit machinery alarm and trip status to plant distributed control system via dry contacts.
  • Local alarm annunciator drive: Connect to on‑site cabinet alarm lamps and buzzers.
  • Auxiliary interlock linkage: Interlock with lube oil system, anti‑surge controller and other skid protection logic.
  • API 670 machinery protection configuration: Form a complete compliant protection system when matched with vibration and position monitor modules.
