Product Description

The ILX34-MBS485 is a compact Modbus serial communication module developed by ProSoft Technology for Rockwell 1734 Point I/O and CompactLogix L1 series controllers. It provides an RS485/422 serial port and can be flexibly configured as either Modbus Master or Modbus Slave. It exchanges data with the CompactLogix CPU via PointBus backplane and communicates with Modbus RTU field instruments, meters, drives and remote SCADA devices over RS485 bus. It supports both Modbus RTU and ASCII modes, with built-in optical isolation for serial side to protect the PLC rack from surge and ground loop interference. It adopts modular Point I/O structure and needs to be matched with 1734-TB/TBS wiring base. Add-on instructions and UDT data structures are provided in Studio5000 for easy programming and diagnostic tag reading, widely used for protocol conversion in skid automation and legacy field device integration.
